This Holiday Season

On behalf of everyone at Black and Associates, we hope that this holiday season brings you and yours a sense of belonging and peace. For those of you who have suffered family strain during the pandemic or lost a loved one, our thoughts are with you. Nostalgic times of the year often come with mixed emotions. It is important to acknowledge whatever you are feeling - be it joy or sorrow - during this busy time.

If you are able, please take some time to pause and reflect on what matters most to you, be it time with family, an important project, or sharing joy with friends.

In recognition of the affordability crisis in Canada, Black and Associates has donated to a charity called the Caring and Sharing Exchange in lieu of gifts to clients and colleagues at the bar. This incredible charity provides support to local families through two main projects: the Christmas Exchange Program and the Sharing in Students Success Program.

Born in 1915 under the Ottawa Welfare Bureau, the Christmas Exchange assistance program provides those in need with food hampers or much needed redeemable gift certificates during the holiday season. This provides recipients with a sense of hope and dignity during, what can be, a very difficult time of the year for those in need. In 2021, the Christmas Exchange Program provided necessities to over 19,393 people. Many of our lawyers have sponsored families through this organization, delivering Christmas hampers around the city during the holiday season. The rising cost of inflation makes programs like this even more critical, and Black and Associates wants to thank their many volunteers for their ongoing dedication and support. Donations are always appreciated.

From our families to yours, try and create some magic this holiday season. Joyeux Noël, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa, Yuletide Greetings, Felix Navidad, and Happy Holidays all!
