Emily Conte

Emily is finishing the last year in the  Faculty of Common Law at the University of Ottawa.  In 2022, Emily summered at Black & Associates and will be returning for her articles.  Upon entering law school, Emily developed a keen interest in civil litigation through her success in her torts, contracts, evidence, and trial advocacy classes.  As a torts Teaching Assistant, Emily also prepared and presented weekly tutorials to over 60 students in both in-person and online lectures.

 

Before entering law school, Emily worked at various federal departments where she developed drafting and legal research skills.  Emily’s passion for law began when she won the Ontario Bar Association and the Ontario Justice Education Network’s Competitive Mock Trials in 2014.  She has continued to develop her oral advocacy skills through her work with the Advocacy Club.  In her spare time, Emily enjoys travelling and watching cooking shows while attempting to replicate the techniques she sees on screen.
